THE COVENANT OF THE CROSS takes care of our greatest needs in spirit, mind and body.
Isaiah 53:5 (NIV) – But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.
This one verse in Isaiah holds a lot of Power and Truth as to what Jesus accomplished on the Cross for you and I. THE COVENANT OF THE CROSS continues today and throughout eternity.
1) Forgiveness of sin for the spirit. Sin is separation of our spirit from God’s Spirit. What Jesus suffered on the Cross bridged the gap and overcame our separation from God.
Isaiah 53:5 (AMP) – But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities…
2) Our Peace of Mind was received when Jesus wore the “crown of thorns”.
John 16:33 (NIV) – (Jesus says) “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Jesus has given us the peace to overcome anything we may face in life. Jesus received sever punishment and we received overwhelming peace from THE COVENANT OF THE CROSS.
Isaiah 53:5 (AMP) – the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him…
Psalms 29:11 (NLT) – The Lord gives His people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace.
Philippians 4:7 (NLT) – Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.3) Our bodies were healed when Jesus shed His Precious Blood for us.
1 Peter 2:24 (GW) Christ carried our sins in his body on the cross so that freed from our sins, we could live a life that has God’s approval. His wounds have healed you.On the day Jesus died on the Cross, you and I not only received salvation but healing. Both of these and so much more were a part of THE COVENANT OF THE CROSS.
Isaiah 53:5 (AMP)…and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.
HEALING THE TOTAL PERSON BECAUSE OF THE COVENANT OF THE CROSS
John 5:8-9 (NKJ) Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. And that day was the Sabbath.
“Rise and Walk“…whenever someone faced physical ailments Jesus strongly encouraged them to take “steps of faith”. Jesus said “Rise and Walk“. He wanted those who wanted physical healing to take action or have “kinetic faith“. He knew that there is power in the Blood…both the physical and spiritual flow of blood.
Leviticus 17:11 (NIV) – For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life.
The Power of Jesus’ Blood and the blood that flows through our bodies is what gives us life. As you recall, THE COVENANT OF THE CROSS is based on Jesus’ Blood.
When my wife, Debbie, had knee surgery late last year; the doctor and physical therapist were in her room less than 2 hours after the surgery. They had Deb get up and move around on her knee. Quite frankly, I was shocked how quickly they had her moving. However, modern medicine continually gets a glimpse of how the Great Physician heals (by the Power of the Blood). As “Science” attempts to catch up with God, may we trust in the Power of the Blood and THE COVENANT OF THE CROSS. God and modern medicine say “Rise and Walk.”
Proverbs 24:16 (NIV) – …for though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again…
Philippians 3:13-14 (NIV) Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.“Rise and Walk“….Jesus says that to each of us in every area of life. Spiritually when fear tries to handicap us and as the evil one uses fear to cripple us and keep us from operating in faith, Jesus says “Rise and Walk“. THE COVENANT OF THE CROSS empowers us to “Rise and Walk”. Jesus’ body was broken so we could be whole in mind, body and spirit.
Psalm 103:1-5 (NIV) Praise the Lord , my soul; all my inmost being, praise His Holy Name. Praise the Lord , my soul, and forget not all His benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Now let’s proclaim aloud what we have received from THE COVENANT OF THE CROSS:
I AM STRONG. (Joshua 1:7-9)
I AM COURAGEOUS. (Deuteronomy 31:6)
I AM HEALED. (Psalm 107:20)
I AM WHOLE. (Mark 5:34)
I AM FREE. (Galatians 5:1)…in The Name of Jesus!!!
